My problem is not with him trying to post under a different identity but with his using the opportunity to dump on Alan while praising himself.
I understand your comment re: the PO but be assured the pressures exerted by Deans on scholars to publish can be much worse than what a PO can do.
Until an apology is forthcoming I don't understand why Greg should be cut any slack.
