I am a former JW. I read Ray's book Crisis of Conscience and understood what I had felt for many years in JW org. If you really want to do what is right do it according to scripture. Pretending to be something you are not is nothing but deception and lies of which God is not in. He tells us to "get out of her my people" and the WTS refers to the NY org as "mother" although this is refering to any false religious system which many come under. I never realized that there were so many cults that were in essence the same as JW's only with different labels. If some of you really have visited sites that witness to JW and not just the X-JW ministries which very often concentrate their efforts on proving JW's false and not preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ as Paul stated "we preach Christ and him crucified". It would be of great interest to many to look up the history of crusifixion by the Romans. It was not 'impalment' that they implemented but crusifixion on a cross. Yes it was their pagan symbol that's why they used it, once Jesus died on it it became the believers symbol of salvation. Although I do not agree with the abuse of the symbol as in jewelry and such, Jesus didn't die on that cross so I could decorate my body with it! If you want to uphold truth be truthful. Jesus is the truth not an org. John 14:6 "I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." It was when I heard John 8:24 that I asked Jesus to be my Lord and Saviour because I did not want to die in my sins "I said threfore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins", believe that he is who? Who he claimed to be, God in the flesh. The Romans knew quite well what Jesus was saying when he said his father was God, when you are the Son of God (cap S) and you are adopted sons of God (small s) they are 2 different things. We are adopted when we believe in Jesus according to the scriptures but he is the ONLY BEGOTTEN Son. You can't NOT be what your father is, every one is every bit what their father is. My father is human so I am 100% human. Jesus came thru Mary so he was 100% human but his father was God so he was also 100% God. He was no freak 1/2 and 1/2 like some say we Christians believe. So the Romans wanted to kill him because they knew what he was saying not because they misunderstood. It's in Romans somewhere I can't find it just at this moment. Too many scrips. say believe in Jesus, IN Christ, by the name of Jesus, and of course Phil 2:9-11 is "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and thing under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." I don't have my JW bible anymore but I remember that all the words in brackets [] indicated that they are put in there where they are not in the orginal writings. and that the greek interlinear I used to have is no longer available that showed that Jesus received worship (I think it was a purple one and now it's navy) now they conveiniently change "worship" to "obiesence" and many many other changes but I think one could still see the truth by reading the greek side alone...some truth would leak thru and of course the heart that really wants to know the real Jesus will find him. Do not be deceived Paul warned: 1 Cor 11:3 "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him." and Gal 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." What is the gospel Paul preached? 1 Cor 15: 1-4 "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" and he also said he wanted to know nothing but what? 1 Cor 2:2-5 "For I determined not to know any thing among you, save JESUS CHRIST, AND HIM CRUCIFIED.
3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God."
May you who really want the real Jesus seek God and truth in sincerity of heart and God will reveal it to you. Seek not as Paul states after the wisdom of men, for they have none. they are right in their own eyes which leads to death.
Remember if you have the right Jesus you have him for all eternity, but if you have the wrong Jesus you will reap the rewards of that for all eternity. God wishes none to go to hell but it is real and he prepared it Matt 25:41 not for humans but for the devil and his angels but in the verse he is talking to people who would not believe in him, in who he really is but followed after lies.
May our wonderful Lord and God (John 20:28) be merciful upon all who seek him and it will be to the glory of "God the Father" when all bow to his Son, Jesus the Christ, the promised Messiah of God who came to save his people from their sins! Luke 2.
John 5:39- "Search the scriptures; for in them ye THINK ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of ME. And ye will not COME TO ME, that ye might HAVE LIFE. I receive not honour from men. But I know you, that ye have not the love of God IN you. I am come in my FATHER's name (his name means 'God with us') and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name (Charles Russell and Rutherford and WTS) him ye will receive. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?" -Jesus Christ (not an organization and not the name Jehovah)
1 John 5:12-13 "He that hath the SON hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that BELIEVE ON THE NAME OF THE SON OF GOD; that ye may know that YE HAVE ETERNAL life, and that ye may believe on the NAME OF THE SON OF GOD."
What is the name we are to believe in? What is the name in which we RECEIVE eternal life?
Glad to be saved and know that I HAVE ETERNAL life not any longer thinking "maybe I'll make it if I can only do everything the WTS tells me".
GB don't be a deceiver and pretend to be something you are not. Don't try to save the WTS, cults cannot be reformed, and any organization that does not allow people to be saved (doesn't preach what Paul preached) according to scripture will itself be destroyed sooner or later that's why God Warns in Deut to not be afraid of false prophets (and the WTS has claimed to be so many times) that they will die because they are not of God nor speak HIS words, and that's why he also warns to "get out of her" and also to "be ye separate", "avoid" and "mark them"! Not the innocent deceived people within the org (we can still reach out to them as they allow) but the org as a whole, you must leave if you want to serve the real Jesus in truth, you cannot lead a double life, a lie, if you have received Jesus as your Saviour, you are a born again Christian that needs to go where born agains congregate and hear the word of God in truth.
You can show others that like so many of us already know, that there is life after the WTS. There are many real Christians that would take you in. I am one that would open my door to you until you could get on your feet in a new life. There is only ONE SAVIOUR, even though you may try to reform and help literally millions (such as Schindler helped many) what Schindler did was only temporary, and your results maybe in getting rid of the 1914 idea (wouldn't save lives) letting people received blood because they do anyway (Pres. Franz sister received blood did anyone know about that?) would save some lives but again only temporary...Eternal life is at stake and the way JW's believe is not how it's going to be. If Schindler helped people to get saved eternally that would have been another story but at the end he realized that he was distraught that he could not do more...his ring could have saved (temporarily) another humans life..but this life is but a vapor and what he did was good as far as helping save a few Jews for the moment it didn't last very long...if those Jews died unsaved they still went to hell the same as the Pharisees Jesus rebuked and wept over for not believing in him...who he really was...not some created Angel but their promised Messiah...God himself come in the flesh to be sacrified for the whole world if they would only believe. John 3:16-17
