If a heart surgeon engaged in malpractice would you stop believing that heart surgery would save a life?
The fact that those representing God who preside over Jehovah's Witnesses worldwide have failed many including your son, has no correlation to the fact that your son will be resurrected by God. My gut feeling tells me that this will absolutely happen, and I felt this before I became a baptized JW.
As one who has an intense interest in the sciences, the last decade and knowing those with an interest in physics has lead me to informally study physics (reading physics books). The laws of space and time point to the existence of an infinate array of "parallel universes" some very similar to our universe. In those universes are infinite possibilities, an endless variety of sequences for each event. An event could be defined as insignificant as the trajectory of a baseball sized meteor through space, or as major (from our perspective) as the events that comprised the life of your son. In every universe the events take a different course, and in many universes you and your son live long lives. These endless possibilities are a result of quantum physics, and operate on scientific principles that scientists are starting to understand and explain. Perhaps our consciousness only allows us to perceive one universe at a time in a linear manner, meaning that when it's all said and done, there is an eternity of variations of your life with your son.
I personally believe that God created these laws for a purpose, to show that choice is the most important part of having a conscious soul. All these universes include different choices we could have made.
As I digress, I guess I'm trying to say that not only do I believe the resurrection is the final act of God's love on every person who has ever lived, but before the resurrection is an "eternity" of universes we must experience (within a lesser timeframe than JWs believe Armageddon will occur, ironically). In many of these universes you will be with your son "again," and of course when all the possibilities are gone there is a universe better than them all. There is where we are all resurrected thanks to shed blood of Jesus Christ.
I sincerely hope this helps you see that all is not lost.
Death is not the end.
