Although I am not a witness and never have been nor will I be I am married into a whole family of them. The shunning has never sat well with me at all. I just couldn't see how loving christian could love someone one day and not even look at them the next! I cried when I realized that my loving JW motherinlaw actually practised this. Scripture is quite clear about loving and forgiving the sinner so that he does not fall into despair. Now why oh why wouldn't a loving christian want to practise this shunning???
