I am a Christian who was born and raised a JW. I was baptised in 1962 when I was 14 yrs. old. I recently have left the WBTS because I learned that they have taught and preached for MANY years that Jesus had came in 1874 and that Armageddon would be over in 1914, and the holy ones taken up to heaven to begin ruling over the earth in Christ's Kingdom. It wasn't until into the 40's that the Org officially changed that 'new light'to another date. For some reason, I never new that the WBTS had taught this in their Bible Student days, or it just didn't dawn on me the significance of that error.
Judge Rutherford had the sheep preach for many years...." millions now living will never die" all those who preached that and those that heard that message are all dead. (most all that is) God does not give false prophecy nor false dates. Jesus' parable of the "faithful and discreet slave" was completely mis-interpreted. With all of the false prophecy done by the Society, it is quite apparent to me and others that God has not inspired or led the WBTS Org. It is also quite obvious that Jesus hasn't returned yet nor chose anyone or Org. as being "the faithful and discreet slave". The WBTS has a history of false teachings that show to others that they were'nt always... " discreet."
I believe that Jesus is not using them to give "food at the proper time" because none of the WBTS prophecies ever came true nor were they given at the proper time. They are not what they claim to be. God invites each one of us individually to come to him to ask for 'knowledge". He will generously give us His Holy Spirit if we are among the righteous and we ask for it. We don't have to ask an Organization of men for it, or to have them interpret the Bible for us. Please read Proverbs 2:1-13 and also Matthew 7:7-8 (please also see Proverbs 15:29 )
