Greg knows that I agree with some of his conclusions and disagree with other of his conclusions. We also, apparently, disagree on some premises but agree on the conclusions reached nevertheless. The episode of this thread has not changed my conclusions at all because they were never dependant upon whether I held Greg in high or low esteem, whether Greg is virtuous or not. I think you realize that I do not foolishly draw conclusions based upon such. This paragraph prefaces the next because I am sure Greg is reading this and I do not want to discourage that he continue debating issues; that is how we grow and learn.
That said, yes Doug, this thread’s testimony is sad, really sad. The explanation offered is not consistent either. What is he considering stepping down from anyway? On one hand he is talking about stepping down from some [appointed?] position and on the other hand he speaks of his recommendation for appointment being held up. It makes no sense. Considering that I do not have all the facts in hand (nor do I want them or are they my business) you should sense hesitancy on my part from too extreme conclusions. Nevertheless, this thread is so sad, and I feel let down by a brother.
