Your prophetic parabolic reference is the Rich man and his storehouses. The Rich man = the GB who on seeing the growth in the organization, focuses on that growth, thinking it means God's approproval and he busies himself building up the administration of a large worldwide organization, and starts building one-day kingdom halls and other facilities for the expansion. That is, tearing down old storehouses to build bigger ones.
But alas someone was demanding his very life. "So who is to have the things he stored up?"
It will not be lost, but given to those who have focussed on spiritual things. So a RESCUE operation is definitely in the works for the sheep. The important thing is not to be caught worshipping the Governing Body or men in any way, to pay attention so you can see they don't have truth now, and to get marked. It's just like the Secretary inkhorn who goes through and marks those "sighing and crying over the bad things happening in Jerusalem." You need to get marked.
Then when the destruction comes through, even if you are still part of the organization, "two will be in the field, one will be taken, one will be abandoned, etc." That's why you don't have to leave the organization, but you do have to be the correct type of Bible-based Christian, which means you're awake and if you see something is wrong in the Watchtower, you must stand up for the Bible. The Watchtower can always be corrected. But if you reject the Bible when you know it's wrong, then that light and insight will be taken from you and when it is really time for you to learn from the scriptures, they will just give you darkness because you first rejected the light in order to side with men.
Getting marked means an angel can clearly tell you're just in the organization for the scenery but you're really a worshipper of Jehovah and will follow any arrangement or adjustment he may make. If you're seen too "loyal" to the organization, are hesitating to accept the scriptures, and acting like Lot's wife who looked back at Sodom, then you will be deemed as worshipping the organization and you won't be able to taken.
And that is the tragedy to take place with the organization. Some will be gathered, but many will become the grapes of wrath because they had the knoweledge, they had the Bible in modern English and they understand they were to remain awake and they understand these are the last days, still they pay no attention to scripture, not comparing what they learn and teach in the Watchtower to be accurate per scripture. And when they do see a direct discrepancy, they run from the issue or try to ignore it by saying "Oh, Jehovah will correct it in his own time." They don't realize that will certainly come true, only it will be the confirmation the people of Noah's day got when it started to rain. They all believed finally, but it was too late.
