Dear Bibleman,

Thank you, and the others, for your input.

I agree that the WTS promoted the thought that Jesus did not know of his heavenly
existance until his baptism. It is merely a false WTS concept. Jesus KNEW he was
Jehovah’s son, and his baptism was the beginning of his 3 1/2 year ministry, and the
heavens opening up to Jesus was Jehovah’s validation and anointing of Jesus as the
Messiah. Nothing more than that.

I agree the resurrection of the annointed is a seperate topic to be pondered and will
continue to ponder the matter. I do follow and am comfortable with the scenarios you
presented.

I have another question.

*** Rbi8 Matthew 2:1-2 ***
After Jesus had been born in Beth'le·hem of Ju·de'a in the days of Herod the king, look!
astrologers from eastern parts came to Jerusalem, 2 saying: “Where is the one born king of the
Jews? For we saw his star [when we were] in the east, and we have come to do him obeisance.”
*** Matthew 2:1 (ftn) ***
Or, “magi.” Gr., ma'goi.
REFERENCE*** Rbi8 Daniel 1:20 ***
20 And as regards every matter of wisdom [and] understanding that the king inquired about from
them, he even got to find them ten times better than all the magic-practicing priests [and] the
conjurers that were in all his royal realm.

I have a problem with the WTS footnote and reference that these astrologers
were men who practiced magic or were magic practicing priests.

I believe they were simply celestial mechanics, with access to biblical
chronology, AND prophesies and were merely following up on the tracking of the coming of
the Messiah. The bible is quite clear that aside from the “temple organization”,
the nation of Israel, there were other faithful ones of Jehovah.
*** Rbi8 Job 1:1 ***
1 There happened to be a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and that man proved to
be blameless and upright, and fearing God and turning aside from bad.
*** Rbi8 Genesis 14:18 ***
18 And Mel·chiz'e·dek king of Sa'lem brought out bread and wine, and he was priest of the Most
High God.
*** Rbi8 Hebrews 7:11-17 ***
If, then, perfection were really through the Levitical priesthood, (for with it as a feature the
people were given the Law,) what further need would there be for another priest to arise
according to the manner of Mel·chiz'e·dek and not said to be according to the manner of Aaron?
12 For since the priesthood is being changed, there comes to be of necessity a change also of
the law. 13 For the man respecting whom these things are said has been a member of another
tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar. 14 For it is quite plain that our Lord has
sprung up out of Judah, a tribe about which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests.
15 And it is still more abundantly clear that with a similarity to Mel·chiz'e·dek there arises another
priest, 16 who has become such, not according to the law of a commandment depending upon
the flesh, but according to the power of an indestructible life, 17 for in witness it is said: “You are
a priest forever according to the manner of Mel·chiz'e·dek.”

What are your thoughts and comments ?

Always pondering,
dproper
