My newspaper is decreasing!
Readers leave my pages!
I’m not so interesting any longer!
What can I do to help myself?
Oh, I know!
I write a letter to my own letters-to-the-editor column and pretend that I’m a very important person.
I know in beforehand that many will doubt my credibility, others who have learned to question most things will for sure tell me off. But some who want to be guided by others swallow my bait.
Anyway, I will stir up emotions from every body and my pages will again be a place for people to read. I will again become “famous” and interesting.
Oh, I forgot!
I can actually kill two birds with one stone!!
If I as the great pretender bring up subjects that I know people have doubts and questions about, then I can more or less become their shepherd. I can lead them away from things or I can lead them to things that serve my purposes.
Yes, this is exactly what I would do ……..if I was a pretender.
