Hi Cy (howzit?!!)

Thanks for commenting on this:

>>Ws, to the best of my knowledge, are rather unique in teaching that Jesus was "anointed" as Christ upon
his baptism. Before then, apparently he was just a regular Joe, and not the Christ (in apparent opposition
to what Matthew and Luke believed -- see for example Matt 1:21 and Luke 2:11). Perhaps someone else
has more to offer on that subject.

But this statement I don't think can be categorically accepted as being true. That's because the "70 weeks" prophecy is always dated throughout Christendom as the time of Jesus' baptism. You can even read this in the Catholic Duoay Bible. So as far as common Christian belief regarding when the "Messiah" appeared, it is traditionally at his baptism. Thus Witnesses are not alone in mirroring the significance of that event. And this is in spite of the fact that Jesus' brith was also announced by heaven.

I didn't realize you were so convinced Jesus had no prehuman existence. That's interesting.

Thanks for your reply though. I wish more people would comment since I don't think the Bible really answers this question specifically.

Cheers,
Bibleman
