As a Jehovah’s Witness, I felt part of an elite group, similar to the feeling of being a Marine or a Navy Seal.
I also had a lot of fun while a Jehovah’s Witness with clean, guileless folks. I went to Yosemite, Sequoia National Park, Florida beaches, canoeing trips in Central Florida, and so forth, with a bunch a fellow Jehovah’s Witnesses. Not to mention all the parties we had during our summer conventions.
So I can’t speak for other people, but I cannot characterize Jehovah’s Witnesses as boring or lifeless. I still miss some of those good ol’ days. Unfortunately, college education was not acceptable in those days, and I wanted to go to college. So I became inactive.
After finding out about the Watchtower past, and its cover-ups, I feel somewhat ambivalent about the religion in general. But I still think that the brothers and sisters whom I knew were a lot of fun and good hearted.
Lobo,
