Hi Da,

This is just some subtext for the questions I asked. I wanted to know from you:

1) When the lambs were sacrificed, what hour?

2) When did Jesus sent his disciples out (estimate).

I don't know if you actually considered this or not. But the WTS claims that.

1) The lambs are sacrificed after sundown.

2) That Jesus sent his disciples out the day before the lambs were sacrificed which is Nisan 13th in the morning.

WTS Brief Scenario:
So their scenario is that on Nisan 13th in the morning, Jesus sends his disciples out to repair for the meal for 13 that evening, and then after sundown Jesus and his other disciples join them for the meal, but apparently the only things prepared for were the vegetables and bread etc but the lamb was not killed or cooked until after sundown. So when sunset comes, it turns from Nisan 13th to Nisan 14th. They quickly kill the lamb and roast it then have it later that evening.
Then it is as you said. Jesus gets arrested that night, he goes on trial and is crucified and dies by 3:00 p.m. that same day.

My main objection to this is that Luke 22:7 says the day Jesus sent his disciples out was the same day the lambs were sacrificed. The above contradicts this in my mind.

My scenario:
My scenario simply is that, as history tells us, the lambs were sacrificed at 3:00 p.m. thus it was the same day when Jesus sent his disciples out in the morning since the lambs were sacrificed later that same day in the afternoon at 3:00 p.m. But by sundown, of course, it went from being Nisan 14th to being Nisan 15th. And if Jesus ate that meal on Nisan 15th, which is when all the Jews eat Passover anyway, on the sabbath day of the "first day of unfermented cakes" since that is why the meal is eaten with unfermented cakes the evening before they left Egypt which was not the 14th but the 15th (Numbers 33), that he thus could not die on Nisan 14th since it was now the 15th. And since this was a sabbath day and only one day from Sunday, what choice do we have but to presume he must have died later that week. And Nisan 20th works out just fine for his dying just before a sabbath day and "three nights" away from Saturday night (Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday night).

But maybe you can explain how the Luke 22:7 scripture works per your understanding.

Thanks.

Cheers,
Bibleman
