Hi Trond,

You made an interesting comment here:

Look at the history of the past. Look at the Catholic Church as an example. You see the flaws of religion? - Why do you expect us to be any different? Are we not all sinners?

-------------

Um, actually Trond, when I was studying with a JW I was besieged with a great deal of anti-Catholic propaganda in just about every publication my study gave me. Between the studies and the books the message of hate toward the RCC was quite clear. What wasn't being said was much about the WT's mistakes you so readily admit to here. No, that silence merely implied that the WT sees the flaws in the rest of Christendom and is far to wise and biblical and Of God to err so badly. There is nothing so powerful as the unspoken word, eh? (Needless to say I felt extremely betrayed when I found out the facts about the WT, when I confronted my study w/facts, she ran away)

Of course after many months of this sort of thing you begin to expect this must be some perfect organization as to be so above all the mistakes of the others.

Well I am compelled to remind the propaganda machine in Brooklyn that somewhere in that bible they claim to follow so closely is a statement about getting the rafter out your own eye before addressing the splinter in your brother's eye. With this Scripture in mind, do you think it is right for the WT to criticize the RCC (or any other) since they themselves are soooooo imperfect? How would the WT react to major campaigning from the RCC against *it*? Think they would look into legal action? I think, after the insignificant WT messed it's pants ;-), they would take any and all legal steps possible to stop it.

Julie, who wonders how Trond feels about double standards.....
