The whole 1975-fiasco thing, for me, clearly demonstrates the power to manipulate the JWs the WT has. Who cares that the WT missed yet another "prophecy"? No one, believe me that little cult is very insignificant in view of the Big Picture. What does matter is that many sold everything, didn't marry, have children, get educated, or have anything for their old age because of this little "misunderstanding" of the WT's. That would translate into needless suffering and hardship, much no doubt that we taxpayers had to pay for (you know, welfare, food stamps and medical for the poor). Play it down all you like with your "worshipping a date" line, the fact remains that the cost for this mistake is beyond estimation.......
No the date thing (you seem to refer specifically to 1975) really is just one of *many* failed WT prophecies, no big deal we're use to that. It's hard to dismiss WT-induced suffering so easily though, but I care for my fellow humans, even those who wish my eternal destruction for disagreeing with them.
