I wouldn't want to be where I was 10 years ago as an individual because I was not one. You are right as far as the clone thingy. We all walked, talked and reacted just alike.
So many are stiffled as to who they really would have been. I know I certainly was. Does it make you wonder how many JW's could have changed the whole world with some invention or discovery or action either for good or bad? Of course you could say this about other groups to, but our focus here is on the Organization. I know some brs and strs who are so intelligient and knowledgeable. I can not help but to wonder what any one of them would have accomplished if they had been allowed to do something else with their lives. Instead they sit in their little cubicle of the world and are deathly afraid to open the door to even take a peak outside for fear of turning into a "pillar of salt".
I know that now that I am away I feel such a relief and a freedom away from the restrictions. I feel like the lock has been busted and the bonds have been broken. I no longer am full of dread and scared to death of demons. I still believe in them, I think, but I am not freaked all the time. I don't worry all day long about whether I am good enough and am doing enough and if everyone likes me. It was awful but I had no idea that it was because I knew nothing else.
