I know when you guys make statements like this about celebrating Halloween, that you have indeed plunged into spiritual darkness. I could maybe see one of the other holidays, but to take part in the day of the dead is another.

I could see how one might even reason out Christmas......but Halloween? I have heard on the news a couple of years back that different Satanic cults were looking to make it a holiday, do you know why???? Because they do their little rituals on Halloween to worship the dead.
Yesterday, I attended a lovely service at the Unitarian Universalist church. We lit candles for those who had passed on, whose memory we wanted to preserve and share with those present. I lit candles for my brilliant, warm, vivacious mother, and for two of my favorite poets, and -- for my JW friends who had to quit talking to me when I left -- people who turned their faces to the wall and let our friendship die, painful as it may have been to them.
Hey, Cheeky, given the anonymity of this board, maybe I lit that candle for you.
