People IN GENERAL used to think this way. A mother could have stopped in the middle of a shopping store, dropped the little ones pants and give it a spanking......NOW though you would quite possibly go to jail.
You need to quit living in the past, and talk to your parents about THEIR abusive behavior. This does not reflect on ANY JW's I know now, and no such thing happens. You are talking about a different time.
My grandmother was a very mean person as well, wanna compare stories? Does that make her religion responsible? No....the answer is no.
People were just mean back then. Living through the depression or whatever it is that made them that way......but it wasn't just witnessess.
