I was visiting with some friends last night, and the kiddies were out trick-or-treating with parents in tow. It was fortunately a beautiful night; most of the neighbors decorated their houses in one fashion or another. My friend's sister's house was quite elaborate. Another friend remarked how Halloween is his favorite time of the year, with the festivities, and the planning, and the fun that all that work amounts to.

Nobody cared that Halloween celebrations might have pagan roots, or might be as unchristian as could be. Why should we? After all, one can have fun without following the dictates of some particular overzealous religionists.

I continually am amazed at the 'false dilemma' JW mindset, and really have to wonder if that's what I was really like. I don't think I was. But it seems that every JW I know or am acquainted with sees things as either Jehovah's way, or The World's way. I suppose if you really believe that stuff, it's the way to be. But what foolish things it makes you say and do.
