I remember how "clean" everyone was. Then I got into it. I mentioned someplace here about a dieting craze the JWs in my cong went through. We lived in So. Calif. The Mexican border was about 130 miles south. There were witnesses from our cong driving down there to get diet drugs they couldn't get in the USA. Then there were people nearly starving themselves. I was overweight. We'd all go out to eat, and they'd sit there in their haze from the drugs they'd obtained legally in Mexico, pick at their food as I ate and enjoyed mine, and look at me and talk about gluttonous people!
I could give example after example of hypocritical living. But they are only human. It is so much easier, spiritually, emotionally, mentallly, and in practice to be out of the WTS org. I will NEVER go back. Life is good and full. I love God. I love my life. I have a wonderful, loving family. The far reaches of this wonderful life I'm living could never have been touched as a JW. I'm not rich, by a long shot, materially. But I'm rich in wonder at all that is around me.
