No, it is not. An elder is not a "priest" - and he doesn't normally have the neccesary cridentials to claim to be one either.
When there is a "trial" - it's something else than a "confession". In a confession nobody gets judged - or disfellowshipped. The information given to the priest will be handled confidential - something you can NOT say about the Watchtowers cangaroo courts.
Everything of interest is written down, kept in files, and sendt to the local Watchtower Head Quaters. These files contain evidence of murders, rapes, incest, pedophilia, together with all other stuff - and the criminals have NEVER been reported to the police!
The police should RAID the JW congs and HQs, to get hold of these files - and arrest the guys responsible. Not only the criminals - but the ones hiding them as well.
