What is the WTS's stand on rape nowadays? Years ago the emphasis was on the woman and her culpability in the matter. For instance, if she didn't scream, she wasn't raped.
How about this scenario. Out in the middle of the country side alone with someone she trusted. Didn't go out there willingly. Has a gun pointed at her chest with instructions to do certain things.
If she screams, NO ONE will hear her, and no one will hear the shot.
If she screams, she dies, but all the witnesses feel okay, although sad.
If she cooperates, she lives, but is disfellowshipped for being an adultress, because since she didn't scream, she consented to having sex with the guy, and wasn't raped. The gun doesn't matter.
She consents, she lives, she gets married and has children and a very good full life. She simply doesn't ever TELL of the rape, and has the burden of dealing with that alone forever.
Then she falls away, and is so relieved.
So, what is the WTS stand on rape today. If it has changed, what about the poor women whose lives were so horribly affected in the past? What about the disfellowshipped women?
The WTS can make changes, and never apologize to people whose lives have been ravaged by their old policies.
Doesn't that bother any active witnesses?
