Hi COMF,
I can understand your position when you are just looking at the false teachings. And the only way to understand this is by the reality.
This organization is as prophesied wherein an owner planted good seed into a field, and before the blades came up, the Devil planted weeds. That means before the organization even got started good, the weeds were present and so infested that to separate the wheat from the weeds at this point my cause some of the wheat to scatter. So it was decided to allow the two to grow together.
Specifically this occurred when Rutherford became president and declared immediately that Russell was the "faithful and wise servant" and the "angel of the Church of Laodicea", thus plunging the WTS into "creature worship" of the first order, only later to blame such "erroneous" teachings on the brothers themselves. But Rutherford had basically taken over the printing empire of the Society in a huge battle. So to get rid of Rutherford might have meant the structure of the Society would have completely disintegrated. So what to do?
It was decided, rather than separate the wheat from the weeds at this point, to allow the two to grow TOGETHER until the time of the harvest when the weeds could be clearly seen.
If we apply this influence to false teachings, then we can see now that we are here at the time of the harvest, all their false teachings are being exposed. But...
Just as this organization would produce many weeds, it would also have to produce some spiritual food and true doctrines for the sheep to hold onto. So there would be true teachings as well. It would seem to reason that that light would have been granted by Jehovah.
Even when I think of 1975, how they WTS was saying on the one hand that this was it and they weren't even planning on assemblies in 1996. Still at Bethel some of the brothers were moving full speed ahead improving on the printing presses, buying new ones and expanding full speed ahead. And their excuse for doing so, while everybody else was winding down and selling their properties, was that "just in case" there was a delay, they would not be caught slacking off. Better to be busy.
So I instantly knew that someone at Bethel wasn't buying the 1975 hype. And thus I knew from then on that some of what I'd read in the WTS would be okay, perhaps even inspired, but some of it would be totally unreliable.
So that having been said, you can't really say the GB has NEVER put out anything truthful or inspired. In fact, they have many advanced truths which are amazing in themselves when compared to Christendom. Such as:
They don't believe the Trinity.
They understand Jesus is Michael, the archangel.
They understand about the Paradise Earth.
They understand the Ramson Sacrifice and how it works.
They celebrate the Lord's Evening meal on Nisan 14th once a year.
They have a clear concept of the Bride Class being of the heavenly class.
And even though 1914 isn't the "end of the gentile times" or the date the kingdom was set up as they teach, it still was properly published as the beginning of the "time of the end" or of that last generation. So that truth got spread along with the false teachings as they preached worldwide.
So even now as we are sifting through the false teachings, still many of the fundamental true teachings of the witnesses certainly seem inspired, in spite of many persons who have the Bible, since many of them, especially in Christendom, believe in the trinity, think everybody is going to heaven, have no real concept of the 144,000 or the Paradise earth, celebrate Easter and Christmas, etc.
Still, the GB has proven to be the "evil slave" who fails to give the food at the proper time in th end and gets exposed. We are seeing that exposure now. But we can't dismiss the organization as not being the "temple organization" because of the false teachings. Fact is, the "temple organization" was prophesied to be a mixture of both wheat and weeds. A little complex, but not too hard to understand when we apply the scriptures to this.
There has to be a "temple" organization as prophesied during the last generation, and Jehovah's witnesses by far fit that description, even though their GB gets disfellowshipped from Jehovah's Heavenly Organization in the end.
So basically, they were "assigned" to feed the sheep at the proper time and they only half-way did it. So there was some light and some milk, but they fell far short of what they should have advanced the organization to. In the meantime, Jehovah did use this organization to spread the fundamental truths throughout the world and many sheep like ones have gathered with the witnesses, who basically are a clean, moral organization who are known in particular to have love among the various races, etc.
Cheers,
