Let me introduce myself. My screen name "Locutus Of Borg" says it all. I was in the "truth ?!?"
most of my life. Now I am out but not without some serious baggage, anger and loss of any relationship with my 2 grown children, who, btw are NOT jdubs thank god. Its a long, and sadly common story among jdubs. I have no agenda, and may post here occasionaly. Basically, I am tired, in my late 40s, no retirement, bills up the ying yang trying to cope with the thought that I will die someday, and trying to salvage what is left.
I am blessed with a wonderful wife who left with me and 2 children I am VERY proud of although I have not had any contact with them in 7 years. My daughter is beautiful and intelligent, just finished 4 yrs college with a nursing degree. My son is 6"4" and handsome,serving in the US Army in Korea, is recieving a very good education that will give him a good career when he gets out.
I have been lurking here for nearly 5 years. Finding people who are intelligent, coherent, thinking beings in the WTS was a surprise and a relief. Unfortunately, as my dear Grandfather was fond of saying to me as a youth "The nail that sticks up is the one that gets hammered down" such has been my experience. Dont do too much thinking or you get hammered.
My wife and I are trying to get our careers on track. Starting over is not easy. We have no friends. . .they were all in Da Troot. Realising that any love they showed was conditional was a shocker.
I want you all to know that many of your experiences have been very encouraging to us. Knowing we are not alone is such a relief!!
We would like to find ex jdubs in our area - are there any resources for such on the net?
