Reminds me of the time, a few years ago, when, in my neighbourhood, the local pre-school playgroup had been let down at the last minute by their pre-booked Santa.
I overcame *years* of conditioning and stepped in and in no time was "Ho-Ho-Ho"-ing all over the place. It was just the greatest thing.
Because no one had the proper suit, that too was a last-minute improv job. I was wearing a red bobble hat, a pair of red curtains belted at the waist and a hastily constructed paper and cotton-wool beard. The kids were wide-eyed with wonder - ah! - the "eyes of faith" eh?
Perhaps it was just astonishment.
Anyway, I'll second that emotion:
"Great Jehovah God, if what I did tonight was sinful, then please go ahead and destroy me now, because I don't want to live in your new order."
