Simple! You and Friend are not unalike. He enlightens others by virtue of his (I think) high connections with the WTS and by his disagrements with some of their nonsense. And he also defends the WTS. Face it, the WTS is not 100% EVIL! Pick whatever % of evil you wish, but they are not 100% evil.
I guess I took some umbrage at your attack on Friend, because I've also seen your own evolution here on H20 over time. I saw you as a defender, of the WTS, a doubter of the WTS, and now an opposer of the WTS. Give Friend some slack, WW. We all go through our own process in figuring stuff out. We cut you slack as you went through your own process (well, SOMETIMES!) when you were facing your own particular cricis of conscience. I think Friend deserves no less than that, IMHO.
He is, after all, one of the most articulate and intelligent JW posters in this forum. That makes him a rarity, indeed. Without people like Friend, we would be engaging in mutual masturbation, which would bore us all to tears.
