Having just returned from a much needed month holiday, it is good to be back in the land of Holy Mountains. Just before I left for the US, I received an e-mail from my former sister-in-law asking me to stop by if I could. She has been DF'd for leaving my brother five years ago. Seems his sexually abuse of his daughters wasn't grounds for DFing, but her leaving him to protect the girls was! Anyway, I did get to stop and visit and in the course of the conversation she informed me that now all of my older brothers have been divorced, none have been Df'd. Also, all her five daughters and one son have all stopped going to the KH and are finding other more meaningful persuits. One is in Jr. College another just married a Muslim and two others are taking night classes. We had a great afternoon and I was able to get a glimpse of what is happening in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area. Seems many witnesses are being Df'd for "apostacy" and immoral behavior. Guess which gender is under which category?
While in the Portland area I had a chance to moderate a discussion on various subjects at a multifaith gathering. In attendance was a mother and daughter that had left the Borg and both were very outspoken about the abuse they both endured as second-class citizens. They gave interesting testimonials about the abuses of the elders and how they were not supported when they went to them for help. Seems the husband was also abusive. So they both voted with their feet and fled the flock. Now they are attending any and all gatherings of any sort sharing what the "truth" really is about for a woman.
More stories to share but of the same nature so I won't bore you all. Just a brief sketch of what is happening in the Pacific NW in watchtowerdom.
