This is just a short note on how incredibly logical the first resurrection is:
1 Cor. 15:42 "So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised up in incorruption. 44 It is sown in a physical body, it is raised up in a spiritual body.... Nevertheless, the first is, not that which is spiritual, but that which is physical, afterward that which is spiritual."
This is the technical dynamics of the first resurrection. In a nutshell, those who have died are sown into the bodies of modern anointed ones, one only to its own body.
What is amazing about this is how much red tape this saves.
But first the basics. Jesus and his Bride Class who are the only ones who are part of the first resurrection must serve on the earth first for 1000 years, then Judgment Day and THEN they go to heaven. Thus everybody has to come back in the first resurrection in the flesh first. Only it appears the way the resurrection works is that that resurrection is not in their own bodies from the grave, but into the already alive bodies of modern anointed ones!
But think of how smart and LOGICAL that is.
For instance, the womanly organization must operate in total secrecy, at least at first, "out of the sight of the dragon." So how is she going to take care of thousands of people suddenly appearing out of the graves? How can you hide all those people without social security numbers and speaking foreign tongues?
But if they are resurrected into already anointed ones, then everything is solved. The resurrection is still totally invisible!
The other thing is getting the people who have died in the past up to speed to modern times. Think of how much time it would take for them to learn all the history, a new language, everything that has happened with the Society, etc.? That would take years! Plus who knows those ancient tongues? I suppose Jehovah could make them automatically speak and understand in a modern tongue. But it works out that being resurrected into the living (though imperfect) bodies of modern anointed ones, there is no learning curve at all! They are automatically updated to the modern world, language, and everything else.
So in essence, it is the same as if the memory of one who had died is just given to someone already living and thus the experiences of a second person are just added to them. The effect is simply an enhancement of the modern anointed one. They now have a doule experience in appreciation of Jehovah, his works ancient and modern. And all completely invisible to Satan's world!
Then, after being "sown into an imperfect body", after the millennium rule on earth and after Judgment day, then everyone will be "changed within the twinkling of an eye" to be transformed to new spirit creatures. That "rapture" takes place at the beginning of the Second Creative Week, when "all things will be made new."
I just find this so much more incredibly LOGICAL than thousands appearing from the grave needing assistance, training, education, etc. involving all their time as well as the time of scores of others trying to get them up to speed, when it is done instantly this way.
And think about the fairness! While they are studying about modern times, everybody else is going to be out shopping in the malls that were left after Armageddon and going through rich people's houses trying to find hidden treasure.
Now ask yourself. Is it fair that just because they died earlier, they have to stay behind learning a new language while everybody else is having fun rumaging through dead people's homes? And when they finally do learn the language and some history, what is going to be left? We know how witness grab up things.
Furthermore, they wouldn't know what was valuable anyway. They wouldn't know the difference between a WT-CD or a Diana Ross or Barbra Streisand or Whitney Houston CD. See, they'd probably pick up the WT CD and miss the good stuff!
At any rate, thousands of anointed ones of the past, including some famous Bible characters, are already resurrected and wearing the faces of someone we might already know... :>
Everything Jehovah does is so incredible...so incredible!!!
Cheers,
Bibleman
P.S. I have a feeling some are still not quite sure that Jesus and the 144,000 will have to be here on the earth in the flesh during the millennium. Doesn't that make more sense that they are here ruling instead of in Heaven? How can they rule from Heaven? So, yes, they will be here on the earth for the 1000 years. So that's the facts!
