Both Gary and Robert are well-educated and quite competent with flowery prose. The difference is in the style. Robert is unable to write even a small paragraph without talking in glowing terms about himself and his position above everyone else who exists. He babbles on and on, yes, but there is only one theme: "I'm magnificent, and you're scum."
Admittedly, there's a colossal ego involved in making yourself the messiah, too; and Gary does like to talk about himself. But Gary's posts are benign, never threatening or condemning. He's always benevolent, friendly, and humble, even when responding to a put-down.
Now, I haven't read everything Ros4GB has posted, but I've read enough to know that the style is vastly different from You Know's style; so much so, that I question whether Robert has the skill to fake such a great difference. His massive ego (read: inferiority complex... damage control in effect 24-7) would have to come peeking through even the most concerted effort to fake a totally different personality.
On the other hand, it's Gary's style almost to a T. Benign, kindly, all-forgiving, owning up to shortcomings with no hostility, defense, or smokescreen.
My money's on Gary. Waddiathink? I'm curious for other observations on this subject. There could be a lot I'm missing.
