I always felt there was some kind of great injustice in the "witness protection plan." A Mafia hitman, having committed many murders in cold blood, now becomes a canary betraying his partners in crime to the authorities in order to save his own neck. In return, he is given immunity from prosecution, money, a new name, a new face, and a new job and home, all at taxpayer expense.
I just cannot fathom this mad rush to fawn all over this guy. He's a murderer, remember? "God says you must not give your dying child blood, or you and she will be condemned to Gehenna for all eternity!"
