The promotion is non-blood therapy is what reformers support. However, blood transfusions are not "bad" by definition. Some do get sick from blood transfusions. Some of those people are JWs, who accept several different kinds of blood transfusions. They live to tell about it, though, as opposed to the other JWs who do not accept other forms of blood transfusion.
ABK, have you asked any local HLC members about which types of blood transfusions are acceptable to JWs? I have. I never received any substantive answer. Try it sometime. Tell the elders that acceptance of any blood product is wrong in God's eyes, and that such a position isn't merely yours, but rather God's. And that you would view anyone who accept any blood product as unchristian.
