Thanks for your comments on my 1975 post. If you are who you say (pardon my skepticism I'm an excellent skeptic) then I wish the best for you in your endeavor.
I know the WTS has made mistakes in the past and continues to do so, mistakes that have been unbelievably harmful to JW's. The biggest mistake they have ever made is claiming to be God's organization and His mouthpiece. This one fundamental and tragic error has lead to all of the other misguided policies and doctrines that are debated here and elsewhere. And it has led to the blind allegiance many JW's have for the organization. I say "many" because I know there are those who don't buy it but feel because of the shunning policy that leaving would be worse than remaining. Unfortunately their silence and their remaining as JW's helps to give the organization the power it needs to survive.
While there are times I still feel angry for being deceived about 1975 and many other issues I am largely beyond that now.
If you really are a GB member I honestly have to say I don't know how much good you can really do unless you can get the organization to admit that they are not God's organization. That seems an impossible task. And if it were to happen there would probably be a general collapse and exodus.
If you are forced to leave I would suggest one thing. Go public, as public as is possible. National television if you can. Expose the WTS for what it really is with as much indisputable documentation as possible. It will be painful for you and for JW's as whole if the WTS collapses. But the pain and tragedy will be less than it will be if the myth is allowed to continue.
Your interest appears to be Christianity and the well being of those who want to follow Him. I trust you will stand up against religious tyranny and legalism as He did.
With love, your brother,
Jack
