Dear G.B.,
If you are who you say you are, you are taking a bold stand and I wish you well. You are going through your own turmoil and "crisis of conscience". One thing that might lead to a little more credibility is if you would share a
few of the thoughts from the latest Governing
Body meeting....what took place...who attended,
the date and time. This information would not incriminate you since you are speaking anonymously
on the internet.
I hope you understand the skepticism some of us have. For the non-apostates you are sounding like an apostate. For the apostates, it seems
incredulous.
In my opinion the doctrinal issues you propose to confront, while important, are not the most important. The Governing Body needs to get it's collective head out of the sand of first century Christian thinking and turn it's attention to
the complexities of life in today's world.
Heirarchical structures have fallen and are giving way to concepts of team work. People are involved with higher education in order to understand better ways to deal with the problems of daily living. The failure of the Society to incorporate
educated men and women into their midst has made them stagnant and unable to deal with personal life problems that many Jehovah's Witnesses are
struggeling with today. A few words of interpreted scripture no longer suffice.
What is becoming evident and of paramount concern
is not the need for doctrinal purity per se, but
the need for a nonjudgmental, loving, empathically
caring organization in which an arm around the
shoulders and a sharing of caring and tears is more important than an interpreted scripture intoning some kind of judgment.
I wish you well G.B. Like many others I will be
watching from the sidelines. Be careful.
