Taita,
: You assume a lot here. You assume that I don't deal with reality because I believe in God.
Everybody, besides some few people in mental yards, deal with reality to a certain extent. Your belief in God, however, has nothing to do with reality. Btw, you ignored my arguments, as I knew you would.
: I can fully understand why people believe in aliens even if I don't believe it myself. There is a lot more reason to believe in aliens than there is to believe in fairies and unicorns. People have claimed to seen space ships..etc, etc. I personally don't know of anyone who would say that they believe in unicorns and fairies.
Belief in fairies went out of fashion sometime between the wars. Later it was replaced by belief in UFOs. Indeed, some very intelligent people believed in fairies. The creator of Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, was one of them. He was actually one of the most respected British gentlemen of his time. He wrote a (to many) very convincing book, which contained allegedly genuine photographs of fairies, and testimonies from many people who had seen them and interacted with them. Lots of people believed in fairies, like many now believe in UFOs, and many people have believed in gods for centuries.
The evidence has nothing to do with it, because there is really no evidence. The UFO scare was created by easily understandable social processes. Before the "flying saucer" scare hit the American newsmedia, nobody bothered to think about UFOs. Then, suddenly, "flying saucers" were seen everywhere, by apparently sane people. It all says very much about human psychology, but nothing of extraterrestrial craft design.
And, yet, it is much more credible that there exist alien spacecraft around earth than there existing some sort of deity.
: THE THEORY OF EVOLUTION
: In the beginning there was nothing
: Then nothing exploded
Thank you for demonstrating the crater of nothingness that is Christian apologetics. I'm embarrassed that I called myself a Christian just a few years back.
The theory of evolution has nothing whatsoever to do with "The Big Bang". If you don't know the difference between biology and astronomy, I don't think you should pretend to be able to evaluate scientific theories based on slogans.
: Wow now isn't that a convincing argument,hehe!
: By the way isn't it called the big bang theory
: and not the big bang fact.
Geee, that's a convincing argument. It's also called the theory of gravity. I guess that means apples don't fall down after all. Perhaps you want to convince the Kansas school board to stop teaching kids about the godless gravitation as well?
There are a few undeniable facts. One is that the universe inflates, at least all of the universe that we can see does. It is also a fact that there is a strong background radiation in the universe, just as we would expect after a massive release of energy. Would you kindly explain how this came about without applying current Big Bang cosmology?
Alas, ignorant people keep grasping at verbal straws. Since cosmology deals with singular events, language evolved from everyday occurrances on planet earth cannot describe it satisfactory. So cosmologists use words from our common vocabulary that only applies allegorically. "Explosion" is in some ways a fitting description of the Big Bang, but in many ways it is not.
I recommend you to get an education. It wount hurt a bit, except perhaps in your pride and your eagerness to believe superstition.
