They are free to disagree about doctrines that don't affect salvation. Paul said, "I preach only Christ crucified". Outside of the commands to "love God with our whole being" and "love our neighbor as ourselves" their is no vital Christian doctrine. All else is just a side show for interesting discussion.
What you ignore is how the Jdubs use the carrot/stick on you in the form of paradise/armageddon instead of heaven/hell as the fundies do.
