Cheeky,
: : Wrong, it is not a simple concept. It is a fact of logic that if nothing exists, nothing can be "resurrected." There is nothing to resurrect. It can only be reproduced or re-created. Therefore, any "loved ones" who return in such a pseudo-resurrection are not the real "loved ones" but are copies, Xeroxes of the persons who lived and died years before.
: I don't know what to say to that.
Of course you don't. Your thinking isn't logical.
: You are just making up crap now.
No. It is logical.
: Jehovah is a great God, and doesn't need to xerox. ROTFLOL.
Then explain how even a deity like Jehovah can resurrect something that doesn't exist.
This was, BTW, Justin's argument when he defended the notion that his exact elements would be reunited when his fleshly body was reconformed in immortality. Is that what you believe, Cheeky? That even though a cougar might eat you when you get lost in the Colorado mountains and poops you out a day later, God will magically reconvene your molecular structure sometime after the Big "A"?
: : It is also a fact that JWs are hardly alone in promoting soul-sleep as a biblical teaching. Christadelphians, Seventh-Day Adventists, WWCOG Faith of Abraham, Associated Bible Students, and some other Adventist groups believe that the soul is the person.
: You are talking about puny little off shoots that I don't even recognize. Except the seventh day adventists, and the teachings of that religion vary depending on where you live.
Of course you don't recognize them. You're an ignorant JW.
7-Day Adventists do have some different beliefs from each other (good for them!). But they are pretty much resolved to soul-sleep, last I heard anyway.
: Granted a small group may have recognised this possibly after speaking with Jehovah's Witnesses,
Now that's laughable. Soul-sleep was around long before Jehovah's Witnesses.
: but is is less than on a grand scale and don't have other things going that Jesus said "you will recognize my people by.......one thing love. Do these people go to war and kill people?
No, they don't. And, "going to war and killing people" is a gross exaggeration of what wars constitute.
Are you saying that it was wrong to stand up to Hitler and Mussolini? Maoist, Saddam or Staline-sque leadership?
: : Wrong. Jehovah's Witnesses do not preach what Jesus preached. That should be self-evident. The singular message JWs preach is that the world entered its "last days" in 1914AD and the great tribulation has been imminent since then. Jesus did not preach that.
: No, you are wrong. Jesus said to preach the good news through out the inhabited earth, and THEN the end will come. Don't start on that stupid "date" reasoning again. That is another subject. Pay attention. Focus.
You focus. What was the "good news" that Jesus preached? Did it have anything to do with 1914, or that the end would come "soon" after that date?
No. And, Mormons, evangelicals, even RCC groups and plenty of fundies believe that their preaching work coincides or is identified in part with the preaching Jesus said would occur during the gospel age.
: : Wrong. Many of the Adventist groups above believe this. Plenty of evangelicals do, too, as I've discovered.
; No, you are wrong. I was raised in one of the "many" groups you suggest and it is all hellfire teaching or going to heaven.
Most evangelical groups are heaven or hell, or at least focused on such. But not all. I know because I've gone to church meetings, have watched them on TV, and have spoken to many ministers.
: Nothing is consistant with these people and again probably seen the reasoning after speaking with a Jehovah's Witness.
JWs are heretics to most. You're right that not much is consistent within Christendom. But that's mainly because they aren't cultish in their tactics, forcing people to believe every last detail the way they view matters.
: It is funny how you take my words and try to apply them to me. Twist twist twist.
I never mentioned you once in my post. I don't know a lick about you, other than that you're an ignorant JW. One of very many.
