Hi Rick,
You said:You raised some troubling aspects of the organizational mindset, Norm. I for one have learned much from your piecing together the organizational puzzle in ways that address some really serious flaws. We can learn from understanding human failings and mistakes. This leads me to wonder. If you were appointed the next president of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, what is the first change you would make to prevent this from ever happening again? Of course, I'm assuming that as the president your goal is the very best collective interests of all Jehovah's Witnesses. As always I appreciate your candor and honest assessment.Rick
I would simply tell all JW's the truth about the WT organization. That is is just another man made entity, that really has only one interest, it's own continued existence and welfare. That it's only interest for them as individuals was that they provided not only free labor, but also in fact was paying to work, thus providing the Society with billions in revenue. Then I would appeal to them to stop looking for any guidance from it and get on with their lives. I would sell all WT real estate and distribute the money back to the individual Witnesses. I would ask them for their consent in distributing the majority of the money among the poorest JW's.
Norm.
