Anyway, as far as the materialized angels, it was just the sinful angels that had that power taken away, apparently. Remember, angels materialized to Jacob (who he wrestled with) and two angels were visible to Lot and the rest of the city of Sodom. So there's nothing in scripture in particular that suggests the faithful angels don't materialize. And the scriptures specifically state that when Jesus arrives he sends his angels out to gather the anointed. How is that done? In many ways, but sometimes it has to be by direct intervention apparently.
Of course, there is a lot I'm leaving out as well, but just wanted to say things are definitely happening "in our midst" that is not seen by the casual observer.
