Good for you! Save your money and enjoy!

I sort of got caught in that anti-education syndrome of the 60's from the WTS though I still managed to fall into a lucrative field and have since had time to go to college, etc.

But it's embarrassing that people, especially the men, are expected to provide well for their families and yet are discouraged from getting the skills to do so. It's as if it's more glorious to work three jobs at minimum wage to show you're a hard worker and a good provider, than to go to college and get a descent skill so you can do the same thing maybe part time but with a good salary.

Yet we admire the rich brothers and we admire the brothers who have nice homes, etc. I have yet to understand why the Society fails to prepare its members for the financial realities of life, especially full-time servants who live on a shoestring only to be turned out to pasture on their own once they get too sick to stay in the full-time ministry. Seems like an organization as "smart" as the WTS would have a health plan for these people and some kind of retirement benefits. Especially since we know the top echelon are going to retire in luxury if they are full-time at Bethel.

So good for you. I hope your field is doing well. It still takes skill to choose a field that will keep you employable. Some people go to college and get an art degree and they still can't get a job. It has to be planned.

Cheers,
Bibleman
