Your thoughts are interesting and I can understand where you're coming from. My only defense is that the Bible, as prophesied, would be understood by those granted special light and the "wicked would not understand" certain things.
So from by subjective perspective, based upon my understanding of prophecy and fulfillment, the Bible is an amazing book of truth and fulfilled prophecy and I'm having lots of fun seeing everything come true having been predicted thousands of years before.
As far as the flood goes. There was a global flood and you can't prove there wasn't. The Bible is absolutely true in everything it says and you can't prove it wasn't.
Evolution is stupid, ignorant theory that isn't even scientific. So there is the issue of Stupidity, Ph.D. in the world. But Christians and Biblicalists are not distracted by that. People have been deceived by false knowledge before.
What you must also realize is that so many of the prophesies are coming true as the end draws near that now some of the rather "spiritual experiences" are occurring for the JIOR, that is for those on the spiritual inside of things. So it is very hard if you're in that group and actually see these miracles happening to think the Bible isn't true or there is no God, etc.
As far as your position is concerned, however, I see no problem with your maintaining your beliefs until more direct proof of God's activity and plans become evident, which fortunately, will be very soon. You know, Armageddon will soon be here and hopefully, before that, many will recognize the coming divine intervention and, as you say, gladly get on board.
So that will be soon. So just keep awake. Keep an open mind, and if it is meant to be, you'll be right there where you belong with the rest of us in a wonderful new world. And then you can learn about God without the distractions of either fake science or false religious teachers. So have a valid complaint. But you can't criticize the reality I know. You can only disbelieve. But that's okay too, because I don't need to "recruit" believers. I don't need permission or a consensus to confirm the reality.
Anyway, like I've said, "It looks different from the air..." :>
Cheers,
