Hello Sister in Hawaii,
I used to live in Hawaii for a while, on Oahu, of course, in Waikiki mostly (also Hawaii Kai). I love Hawaii. It's just a different place, and I still have lots of friends there.
But since you are lokoing at the big picture, I'd just have you consider that the two beasts of Revelation, the 666-Beast and the Lamb-Dragon beast, represent Christendom and the WTS. The Lamb-Beast comes "out of the earth" and the earth is associated with the Bible and Jehovah's arrangement. Therefore, the Lamb-Beast, appearing to be associated with the "lamb", Jesus Christ, would represent members of the "anointed" who have apostasized. 2 Thess. 4:2 thus is specifically a reference to the Governing Body since this "man of lawlessness" must rise up WITHIN Jehovah's organization, that is within the "temple of The God", that temple being the anointed ones associated with Jehovah's Witnesses.
Considering, therefore, that the Lamb-Beast coming out of the earth is the apostate and now dismissed GB of Jehovah's Witnesses, we must pay attention to the Bible's prophesies as to what the fate of the organization will be. And it is very clear tha this Lamb-Beast along with the 666-Beast will be destroyed together, at the same time, by being thrown into the "lake of fire."
So prophetically, by scripture, it doesn't seem as though the GB will make any critical changes or that any changes being made will be more than "too little, too late."
However, the "appearance" of a change should be expected. That's because in the parable of the "Rich Man and Lazarus" the Rich Man is also the Governing Body in torment with all their false teachings now being exposed by Lazarus, who is the Messiah, Jesus Christ himself at his second coming. At some point, the Rich Man requests Lazarus for information (a drop of water) and not being given that, requests him to go to the house of his five brothers so that they don't suffer a similar fate. We can only assume this would be other members of the organization, particularly the anointed ones. But this special knowledge is also refused and they are told to rely upon the Bible.
This scenario does suggest that there will be some last-minute attempts to "reform" but they will not be officially recognized by Jehovah or Lazarus. Unfortuantely, some in the "reform" movement may take this as an indication that things are improving and may linger with a false organization longer than they should, merely looking at the social conditional changes within the organization and not true doctrinal changes.
Just some thoughts in line with what you said, and that is, that Jehovah can always recognize the pig under the ribbons. They have been judged and their punishment is moving quickly.
Cheers,
Bibleman
P.S. By the way, the Governing Boy were formally "disfellowshipped" as "God's channel" of communication in November of 1992 by an anointed member of the organization authorized to do so. But in the letter it disfellowshipped the "entity" of the governing body as representing Jehovah's interest in providing spiritual food at the proper time. But individual members were told they could repent. So it is possible that one or more individual members of the Governing Body just might wake up in time. But reform of the current orgaization or the GB is Biblically suggested to be rejected.
Aloooooooha! I miss Hawaii!
