Correct. It is one of those (I call) "benign" doctrines that are hard to prove/defend from the Bible. If there is no clear-cut message from the Bible on subjects like that, how can one make them critical in a belief-system? The WTS does, but then again, they make goofy stuff critical in their belief system.
Were you here on H20 when Greg made a HUGE issue on whether the koine work for Jesus should be pronounced with two or three syllables? Since no one alive can properly speak koine Greek today, the whole issue is moot, but Greg came in here and grandstanded for the try-syllabolic pronunciation. Like, WHO CARES? Heck, the WTS still insists on naming their religion and naming GOD with a pronunciation that is generally not acceptable among the most respected scholars!
Only a few days ago, AF posted a carefully-considered SIX PART challenge to Greg in here. Greg promised us that it was an easy challenge to meet. We haven't seen him since.
And if and when we do see his rebuttal to AF, you can be assured that AF will leave him (as 5GJW said) going home with his brain in a jar.
If the mighty WTS can't properly defend themselves against legitimate scrutiny and criticism, then Stafford doesn't stand a chance, either. Certainly, not in here, as we shall see if he steps up to the plate to challenge AF. At least one better mind than Stafford challenged AF. He was a loyal dub then. Now, he's an atheist working on his Masters Degree in Religion or Religious History.
Farkel, who would love to see Stafford step up to the plate and get drubbed by AF...
