Gary- In every case, either it is not established that the scriptures in question were written before the event(s), or the alledged fulfillment is extremely subjective and doubtful. It is all imaginative interpretation of very ordinary things. It is not clearly established that an unequivocal prophesy has been unequivically fullfilled. And whoever said Christianity was "simple truth?"

And the biggest jump of all- Not just
1. That the scriptures are not verified as being before the fact(s).
2. That the interpretations are unverifiable. This is especially reflected in that no one now can make any predictions beyond random accuracy.

This is the biggest-
3. As a consequence of accepting the Bible as inspired we now must conform to artificial virtues as concocted by various specific people.

The of course, if we don't accept all this there is a condemnation of our moral worth and various threats about our future. This is to keep us from daring to disagree.

An ancient collection of manuscripts is simply not our primary source of knowledge. It must be verified by things that we already know, can measure, and make things out of.

You should read James Randis "The Mask of Nostradamus". It shows that prophesy is a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.

What is good is that people be firmly convinced that love and virtue should dominate their actions. Religious views, including yours, I suppose, have a role in this.
