Gary- In every case, either it is not established that the scriptures in question were written before the event(s), or the alledged fulfillment is extremely subjective and doubtful. An ancient collection of manuscripts is simply not our primary source of knowledge. It must be verified by things that we already know, can measure, and make things out of.
You should read James Randis "The Mask of Nostradamus". It shows that prophesy is a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.
What is good is that people be firmly convinced that love and virtue should dominate their actions. Religious views, including yours, I suppose, have a role in this.
