Text Box: Once again, Steve and Nettie Glassman have provided the perfect setting for the annual start of the season with a trail ride and party from their Holdfast Farm. The trail ride, generally led by master of the Laytonsville Irregulars, the intrepid Master of Holdfast, Steve Himself, left at 4:00 in the afternoon and moved off at a rapid pace. This ride is truly remarkable as one of the few opportunities of the season to which the field is privileged to keep Master Steve in view for most of the ride. Of course, from this fixture he is the only one that knows the way back!
Once safely back, the food and refreshments flowed generously with an occasional participant taking a dip in the pool. This is always a wonderful event for which all of Goshen is deeply grateful first to Nettie, but no less to our host, Steve.
Text Box: The annual Hunt Ball has been planned this year for November 12. With the venue from last year and another year’s experience under their collective gowns, the ladies of Goshen are busily planning for yet another superb event. Watch for details and contact Amie Weiss or Andrea Cone to volunteer to help.
Text Box: Each year Goshen takes its hounds and staff for an exhibition ride at the Columbia Classic Horse Show. This is a great opportunity to educate the public at large about foxhunting and to demonstrate how responsive and friendly foxhounds can be. It does force a change in our hunting schedule however. Consequently, we will not hunt on Saturday September 11, but we will instead hunt on Sunday September Text Box: Glassman’s Annual Trail Ride and Soiree

Recuperating
Text Box: Former Goshen Master Dan Ligon is recuperating from a prolonged illness at Brooke Grove. All of goshen wishes Dan and Hazel the very best and looks for a speedy recovery. Hunting without a white pickup leading the way simply won’t be the same.
