Well done.
I have been using a video camera to record drug deals,
car license plates and prostitution. I am in the
process of making a compilation video to send to
papers, TV, and government officials. I have called
all of the above before with no results. I have talked
to the police and they have advised me to keep a low
profile to avoid retaliation.
On the good side
I have noticed fewer troublemakers on our street since
I have started using the video, and when some of them
see me, they take off.
On the bad side
The druggies have approached my wife while she was
driving to the store with our 13-month-old and
three-week-old baby and said that they are going to
shoot her. My mother in law was witness to this (I do
hope she had a nice vacation in San Francisco).
I have been threatened while using the video camera
and it�s all on tape, not that that�s any use. The
police have said that we can send copies to them and
the narcotics department, but probably nothing will be
done as their hands are tied.
One junkie tried to break our front window with an
umbrella after asking them to leave.
Others have threatened to destroy our car (we can�t
park in front of our home)
Many have threatened to burn us out.
The list goes on. (I�m still recording them and
telling them to get lost)
*** Please note that the police where called on each
occasion and, on the few times that they decided to
answer the phone, they promptly sent a squad car to
our door in under 3 hours flat.***(also on video with
a time stamp). I do actually have a great appreciation
for the police officers but they are under staffed and
are not allowed to do their job due to red tape. The
DA doesn�t want to prosecute drug dealers because they
are victims. Are my two baby daughters not victims?
I received a circular from the city saying that 19% of
property tax goes to law enforcement. I pay $5500 and
I bought when prices were low. That is over ONE
THOUSAND DOLLARS from my pocket for nothing. When I
call the police station (two blocks away) I usually
get a busy signal (also on video). Clearly something
is wrong with this picture. Is the money going to
Willie Browns off shore bank account?
I also received a circular from the city saying that
it is the residents� responsibility to clean the trash
from the sidewalk in front of their home. After trash
day I can sometimes fill half a trash can. This is due
to the bums ripping open trash bags in search for
cans. Why should I get fines for someone else
littering? Yet again the city puts the burden on the
hard working citizen.
We are now leaving San Francisco mainly for the sake
of the children. The parks would be great for them but
they stink of urine and the bums are always trying to
touch the babies so that we think �Oh what a friendly
homeless person, lets give him a dollar�. What we are
really thinking is �Don�t touch my child with your
plague ridden hands�, and �I would get so much
pleasure shooting you in the forehead�. I hope this
doesn�t sound to extreme because it does come from the
heart.
I do love so many things about San Francisco and wish
to bring my children back to see the City where they
were born. At present the negatives outweigh the
positives. I am however going to keep calling
politicians and sending my tapes to anyone who can
help. I am working on a web site at present containing
the video footage I have shot in mpeg and avi format.

I just wanted to say that I think it is great what you are doing, keeping an
eye on what goes on there with your webcam (although how could you miss it
all). Anyways, I live in Utah now but I used to live in the Henry Hotel a
few years ago and I know how awfully bad and horrible it can be around
there. One time I was walking down sixth street and a guy threw a glass
bottle at me (which missed) because I wouldn't stop and talk to him.

long time now-keep the camera on.We can thank the elected district
attorney for this.Did you know that about six months ago he went on KRON
T.V. CH.4 news and said that he would not prosecute drug dealers,because
if they were convicted they would lose their "public housing grants"I
swear that is true and this sir is why the police will not bother to
arrest them. Now the city wants a million dollars to send the hookers and
transgenders to a shrink.This is why we have the on going problems and it
will never stop as long as those in office will do nothing about it.I am
