Who Is Jon Weatherly?
My Family and I
I'm 46, married with two kids, a house, a dog, a cat, two cars and a lot of friends. Since 1990 I've taught New Testament at Cincinnati Christian University. Since January of 2001, I've been Academic Dean of the College at CCU. I've written a book on the death of Jesus in Luke-Acts (the published form of my PhD thesis from the University of Aberdeen) and a commentary on 1-2 Thessalonians. I'm also working slowly on a commentary on Acts for a new series from Eerdmans Publishing, and I am a member of the editorial board of Stone-Campbell Journal. I'm an elder at White Oak Christian Church, where I also teach a lot and play saxophone and clarinet in the worship band.

My intelligent, beautiful, energetic, youthful, hard-working, talented and tender-hearted wife, Tammie, enjoys being a full-time mom, co-director of the church drama ministry, a singer in the church worship team, a member of the church choir, the part-time worship ministry assistant at our church, production coordinator for
Moening Presentations, and a volunteer in our kids' school. Believe it or not, she also has time to manage her own business, Weatherly's ProofPerfect.

My intelligent, athletic, handsome, cooperative yet acerbic son, Cale, is 18 and recently graduated as one of seven
valedictorians at Walnut Hills High School. He plays trombone and ultimate frisbee, was a field commander for the marching band and a member of the quiz team, and enjoys skiing, foosball, and the outdoors. He now attends Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Someday maybe he'll be a chemist, a mathematician, or a political philosopher or philosopher of science. Donations to his college fund will be received gratefully.

My intelligent, athletic, pretty, cooperative yet determined daughter, Allison, is 13 and in the 8th grade at Walnut Hills, having previously graduated from
Fairview German Language School.  She plays violin and soccer and enjoys books, crafts, writing, her friends. Maybe someday she'll be a pediatric cardiologist, a veterinarian, an elementary teacher, a stock analyst or an investment banker.

This is how I look outside the classroom.
