Salvation, according to the dictionary is "The process or state of being saved". Salvation, in biblical terms, is when God forgives you for all of your sins or, wrong doing, by His grace. Salvation is a gift from God. You can't buy it or work your way towards it. The only way to receive salvation is to confess that your are a sinner to God. And accept the Sacrificial Death of Jesus Christ. You see, God requires payment or, atonement, for ALL the sins that you commit. There is absolutely no possible way that you or me could ever do enough good things to cover up all the bad things in our life. God hates sin so much that just one little sin overshadows 1 million good deeds! In ancient biblical times, people had to make daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly sacrifices to God to make atonement for all their wrongdoing. But even that was not enough. There is only one sacrifice that is good enough in God's eyes to make up for all the sins in the entire world. That sacrifice is Jesus Christ. |
