Strike! About Me Strike!

As you may have noticed, Bowling is my name (along with Joe), but ironically, it is not my game. As it turns out, I can't bowl for anything, even though I have a college credit in bowling. More on that later. I have lived in or around Indianapolis all my life and am a graduate of Tech High School in 1990 and Indiana University in 1994 (well, I guess I did live in Bloomington from 1990-94). Anyway, I got a degree in Accounting, but since that didn't adequately obliterate my social life, I ended up becoming a computer programmer. Excitement galore.

However, there is more to me than numbers and computers. First and foremost is my loving wife, Brooke, who teaches music while also putting up with me spending so much time on this website (especially when I'm blogging on vacation). As for me, I enjoy watching big-time sports (football, racing, basketball), playing small-time sports (golf, pool, canoeing), walking my dog, being ignored by my cat, being a part of my younger family members' growing up, playing with my camera toys (and making vacation blogs), cooking and baking, and fighting the never-ending/never-succeeding battle to lose weight. And occasionally, I work on this website.

Around February 2002, I started adding weekly top 10 lists. Sure, it's a ripoff of David Letterman, but I doubt I will be taking any of his business with my musings, and I need an outlet for my creative urges. The topics could range from sports to current events to anything I think I can make fun of. I'll try to post a new one every week, and I will create an archive of past lists in case Letterman runs out of ideas and needs to use one of mine. However, I haven't heard from Worldwide Pants, so around September 2002, I stopped adding lists.

Around June 2002, I added another new feature to the page: recipes. Those of you who know me know that I like to cook and bake, and every now and then, someone asks me for a recipe. Therefore, I have decided to keep an archive of my most commonly used recipes. Most of them are for cookies, but as I try new things, I will post them on that page. E-mail me if you would like to suggest a recipe.

I hope you enjoy the site!
