Gillian

Having the role of the rational, compassionate and extremely intelligent Agent Scully, Gillian Anderson has an intricate job. As the grounded and down-to-earth opposite to David Duchovnys 'Spooky' Agent Mulder, Agent Dana Scully is an unfathomably complicated character, whom Gillian never fails to portray in a totally believable and admirable way. The tension-filled dynamic between the two actors is one of the main reasons that the show has been so phenomenally successful, and as Scully, she owns one half of a inseperable whole which makes The X-Files what it is.

I admire Gillians alter ego, Dana Scully, for her deep strength and intelligence, something which I hold very important to myself, and I would guess that thousands, if not millions, of girls and women out there feel much the same. It is not often that a fictional character puts forward such a positive role-model for the other half of the population, and Gillians Agent Scully does just that.
