We left on Thursday, July 12. This was right after Monday, July 9 (moving day), when the furniture had been delivered from South Carolina to Michigan (I was amazed at how much unpacking Teresa managed to do in those days - when we left, the apartment looked like a home, rather than a storage space). We flew out of O'Hare airport in Chicago. We had forgotten that Chicago is on Central time, which meant that we had an extra hour when we got there. This is never a bad thing, particularly on international flights.
We were flying Lot airlines, which is the Polish National Airline. The Flight Attendants speak English, but there was a LOT of Polish being spoken on the plane.
Since we were on our way TO Europe, we were flying at night (it just works better that way). The result was that we would get into Krakow VERY early in the morning our time (around 3:00 AM), but it would be around 10 or 11 AM their time.
The flight was smooth and relatively easy. I slept most of the way; Teresa managed to doze every so often.
And an important safety tip� Black Currant juice is NOT anything like grape juice! It may look the same on the package, but it is a very bitter drink. Evidently it is something they drink a good bit in Poland and Teresa and I thought it was just a variant on grape juice. Be careful of this stuff.
