LOOK WHO'S BACK

No Mercy-
This Pay Per View made and broke people in the JWA:EWA, but for one particular superstar, it was to herald the beginning of two months of confusion, controversy and adversity. That superstar is the Corpse. But with a win in the past week over his former friend Senor Gomez, and Gomez's newly found team mate GDawg, has the dust finally settled for The Corpse on this whirlwind of controversy? Will Extreme Zone offer the benefits Corpse thought he would find when he first left for Action Zone?

The beginning of the chaotic spell began when Corpse faced off against Vegito and Brimstone at No Mercy...

'The match never went the way I intended it to. I set out with the intention of settling an old rivalry with Vegito, and beating a man whose shadow had always been cast over me, even on Action Zone. The supernatural bull...The happenings in that match marred it for me. And at the biggest show of the year, I would have appreciated something more than a draw in such a big match.'

This discontent with Extreme Zone went a step further the next week, when, after demanding a trade to Action Zone, Corpse was defeated by Vegito...

'That loss for me will always be a blight on my career. It should never have happened. The only reason I lost is that I was screwed. They saw I was leaving and they knew I couldn't take the title with me. So rather than make it non-title, they preferred to screw me over and promote me as an Action Zone outcast who couldn't fit in. Anyone who saw that match knows I didn't tap out. Suffice to say, it left a bitter taste in my mouth. It stings when you leave and they make sure the door really does hit you on the way out.'

Ties severed with Extreme Zone, Corpse returned to Action Zone, heralded by newly reappointed General Manager as the show's bastion, it's figurehead. This statement was to haunt both men for the next few weeks, and become the spearhead argument for another antagonist on Action Zone...

'Some people were unhappy when I received an Undisputed Action Zone Title shot so soon after returning, particularly Tommy Polo, though to my knowledge at the time he kept that to himself. Anyway, due to this overbearing atmosphere, and rough undercurrent, I was sensing malcontent from most of the locker room. this kind of sensation in the skin can make a person angry. Can make a person...Angry. And I think from that match onwards, this was increasingly obvious in my promos. I gave up caring about respect. But, I also wanted my first reign as the Main champion of a show to come about without any doubt, with no controversy. So, I did not win that night.'

Corpse then found himself face to face with Action Zone's resident sour puss Tommy Polo, who had taken Winter Sanderson's words of praise that little bit more seriously than the rest of the roster.

'When you are at the top, the last thing you want is someone stealing your thunder. Tommy Polo had issues with management, and in his mind, I was the amalgamation of this. there was every precedent for giving me a title shot, but Tommy Polo didn't see this as he only has his own interests in mind. So, with a person as single minded as he, there was only one way to get through to him, to show him that I deserved what I was getting. And that was to challenge him.'

Inevitably though, and perhaps ironically, it was this idea that span the controversy into overdrive...

'Polo had been running around for months, praying on the weak, and whenever he lost a high profile match, he would cry about it, and blame it on management. It happened with Shane Powers, it happened with Winter Sanderson. Only problem was, he put me in the fray. Now as I have already said, it was perfectly substantiated that I received my shot. But it was his fault I didnt take the opportunity. Unfortunately I made the blind sighted mistake of putting a lot on the line with Polo. Perhaps in hindsight I should have made our match less significant. Anyhow, Polo's little hurricane marred the match a lot in my eyes.

Once again, the outcome of the match left a sour taste in corpse's mouth...

'When a guy knows he's beat, and runs away, it makes me sick. Polo would rather have quit Action Zone and left the match on a count out loss, than put his shoulders down and let me beat him. I find that classless, to be honest.

After that match, Corpse was left on the sidelines for three weeks, even pulling out of the vendetta main event...

'I guess it's pretty obvious why I left myself out of that match. If I was to win the title, so soon after Polo's temper tantrum, I would have gotten no respect for the victory. So I couldn't enter the match just to lose.'

This last week gone seemed all too tranquil in the wake of the last few weeks, as Corpse gained a single, uncontroversial pinfall victory over GDawg, in what was his last Action Zone match before being traded...

'It was nice to get back on track, and leave Action Zone with a win'

The win was not to be the last we saw of Corpse on the night, as he later came down to the ring to say goodbye to Action Zone in his own way...

'Heh, I wonder if they'll want me to pay repairs on the ring, and the announce tables. Yeah, it made sense to me that I should leave with something memorable. And what's more memorable than destroying a ring, decimating the nWo and my former friend Senor Gomez?'

However you view The Corpse's viewpoint on the last few weeks' events, you cannot deny that the prospect of this enigmatic superstar's next move on Extreme Zone is mouth watering.

'Well there are several routes I could take. I still need to get a legitimate pin fall over Vegito-or vice versa. We have something to settle once and for all. then there's Vulcan, bad blood there. I have a feeling I might have resentment from Batista and Orton, given their close ties to Tommy Polo. In any case, you can be sure I will make an impact this week on Extreme Zone...'

Tune in to Extreme Zone this week to find out just what happens next in this confusing saga...
